The league fixtures will start following the completion of the opening group stages of the League Cup.

This is due to the league being split into three divisions instead of two and as a result the reduction in the number of league games.

The following groups will make up the opening round of the MacWhirter League Cup. The top two from each group will advance to the next round. Matches will be played in September and October before the league season starts.

Teams will play each other once.


GROUP A
Caerleon, Cardiff Corinthians, Cwmbran Celtic, Ely Rangers, Grange Harlequins, Newport YMCA, Risca United, Taffs Well.
