2nd March 2008 Plenty of positives in defeat to older Swans On turning up to the game we were astounded to find out that a Swansea City side could not raise enough under 14 players to make the sure the game went ahead. With all the teams in Swansea,Neath, Port talbot and Bridgend they resorted to pulling 7 u15 players from their older age group, very shocked by their decision!!! this did not deter the boys. The boys battled and showed great character and were by far the better footballing side with Jordan Edwards, Ryan Morgan and Aaron Ryan in great form. Some sloppy defending and poor refereeing saw us go down 4-0 in the end which was not a fair reflection on the game. We deserved more, should have got more but will take a lot of positives from the game, the football was only played by our boys keeping it on the deck for Swansea to result in a long ball game (Wimbledon Way!!) that relied on their superior physical strength to ensure their victory. As far as I am concerned we got a lot out of the game, Great character, outstanding battling team performance all the trade marks of us of old. We are gelling now, new faces settling well.... the last two performances shows how far we have come since the start of the season and hope this is just the start and will finish the season on a high and go from strength to strength, just in time for the Blackburn trip in May..
