Match Report
Port Talbot manager Nicky Tucker was forced into making two defensive changes. The Steelmen made a bright start and after two minutes Dylan Blain found the support of Lee John on the right side, but his goalmouth delivery was headed clear by Geraint Mitchell. There was an another chance for Port Talbot to move in front four minutes later with Martin Rose and Leigh De-Vulgt combining well, resulting in Liam McCreesh being just off target with a glancing header flying narrowly wide. The action soon switched to the opposite end and the Islanders gave Port Talbot a scare when leading scorer Kevin Lloyd drilled a low shot inches wide of the upright. Midway into the opening half McCreesh fired in a blistering shot which appeared to be destined for the top corner, but keeper Farai Jackson reacted superbly. With eight minutes of the half remaining, the Steelmen increased the tempo and Blain sent in a 30-yard shot which Jackson did well to save. Port Talbot began the second half with Surman advancing forward into Llangefni territory. He picked out Rose, only for him to slice his shot wide of the near upright. Llangefi went in front on 55 minutes when John Boardman set up Thomas, and he sent a shot beyond the reach of goalkeeper Kristian Rogers. Thomas snatched his second goal, finding the net directly from an inswinging corner four minutes later. Tucker's reaction was to withdraw Evans and introduce former Cardiff City youth product Scott McCoubrey. Midway into the second half Barrow blazed a fierce shot from the edge of the area, the ball struck the underside of the bar and dropped into Jackson's hands. Port Talbot were rewarded with a goal after 74 minutes with Barrow hammering home a shot from 10 yards after a McCreesh attempt was blocked by the alert Jackson. Llangefni rallied and the Port Talbot defence became a little ragged, allowing Thomas to register his hat-trick when they gave him time and space to curl home a shot from 12 yards. With the game heading into the third minute of injury time, Sadler inflicted more misery on the Steelmen with a well-timed finish from inside the area.

Lifeline for Llangefni
Follwing six successive league defeats, bottom club Llangefni sparked thoughts of a Houdini escape with this impressive victory over Euro hopefuls Port Talbot. Visitors’ boss Nick Tucker was dumbfounded at his side’s inept display. “I feel let down by the players today,” he said. “That was one of the most embarrassing performances of my managerial career and, although I don’t usually criticise players, not many can hold their heads up after that display. "Llangefni thoroughly deserved their win and a neutral would have thought we were the side stuggling to save our Welsh Premier lives" Danny Thomas was the Anglesey side’s hero with a fine second-half hat-trick after a goalless first period. Liam McCreesh briefly lit the Steelmen’s flame with a 73rd-minute reply, but it was soon extinguished as Jason Sadler netted the fourth at the death.

Match Report
Llangefni Town have rediscovered the belief that they can survive in the Welsh Premier after their stunning win over high-flyers Port Talbot. The victory came as a huge boost for the bottom-placed side. Newly-appointed director of football Gus Williams said: “For us to put four goals past opposition of Port Talbot’s calibre shows just what the potential is here. The lads are aware of their capabilities and now we are re-engaged in the serious push for points to achieve our escape from relegation. What they did on the pitch against Port Talbot was the fruition of their labours in the training sessions and, while we’d would have been happy with 1-0, we are obviously delighted at the convincing score.” Llangefni’s general manager Bryan Owen said: "This was our best result of the season and it means we are still very much in the business of fighting for our Welsh Premier place. Our ground is among the best half-dozen in the league. And such has been the massive investment here in terms of cash and effort, it would be a shame if all that were to be in vain. We have eight games left and if we can win about half of them our future in the league should be secure." With defeats in all eight outings since New Year’s Day, Llangefni were steered towards precious points by Darren Thomas’ two goals. on following corners after 55 and 58 minutes. Although Port Talbot’s Liam McCreesh clawed one back, Llangefni proved it was their day when Thomas completed his hat-trick on 84 minutes and Jason Sadler struck in stoppage time.

Thomas sparks rout
Two goals by Darren Thomas, direct from corners three minutes apart early in the second half, set up relegation- threatened Llangefni Town for an unlikely win over high-flying Port Talbot Town. Starved of success since New Year’s Day, with a woeful sequence of eight defeats, the Anglesey side confirmed their best show of the season by hitting two extra goals late on. Llangefni had hinted at achieving something straight after the kick-off but Jason Sadler wasted a couple of openings and Craig Hogg put a header too close to the opposing keeper. The takeover by Llangefni began on 55 minutes, when Thomas curled over a corner from the left to fool Port Talbot keeper Kristian Rogers and he repeated the remarkable feat on 58. Although the away side closed the gap through Liam McCreesh on 73 minutes, Llangefni would not be denied, as Thomas completed his hat-trick on 84 and Sadler provided the fourth goal in stoppage time.

Danny Bach scores three as Gefni keep survival hopes alive
Danny 'Bach' Thomas (right) scored an historic hat-trick for Llangefni as they kept their survival hopes alive with a resounding 4-1 home win over Port Talbot Town. All of the goals came in the second-period at a blustery Talwrn Road as the Anglesey-side took the lead through Thomas who received a short corner and his cross ended up flying passed everyone and into the back of the net on 54 minutes. His second goal was even more fortunate, as his in-swinging corner caught the wind and Kristian Rogers miss-judged the flight of the ball and could only flap it into the back of the net four minutes later. The Steelmen responded on 73 minutes when a long Lee John cross found Scott McCoubrey in space and although Farai Jackson pulled off a good save, Scott Barrow was on hand to give the visitors hope. Thomas completed the first ever 'Gefni Premier League hat-trick, when he picked up the ball on the edge of the box after a clever Jason Sadler dummy, to shoot across Rogers and into the corner. Sadler bagged a fourth in stoppage time, when his delicate and precise shot across Rogers ended in the bottom corner for a win that will give the side hope for the rest of the season in their battle against relegation.

Danny Bach scores three as Gefni keep survival hopes alive
Darren Thomas notched Llangefni's first-ever Welsh Premier hat-trick as the bottom club shocked European aspirants Port Talbot at Talwrn Road. The Anglesey outfit shrugged-off eight successive defeats and last weekend's 7-1 drubbing at TNS to also record their best-ever top flight victory.
Jason Sadler and Craig Hogg had come close to opening Cefni's account before Thomas took a hand with a brace inside three minutes. He curled the first direct from a corner which surprised Steelmen's keeper Kris Rogers and then repeated the feat on 58 minutes. Scott Barrow pulled one back for the visitors but hopes of a comeback were extinguished when Thomas completed his threesome and Sadler put the icing on the cake with the fourth in stoppage time.
