16th December 2007 Blues defeated on last kick of the game With freezing conditions and a strong blustery wind the Academy Under-12‘s side welcomed Aberystwyth Town for this re-arranged FAW fixture. With two new faces coming in to our line up in Alex and Owen we started the game quite well and forced three corners in the opening five minutes, then in the middle of the first period, a great ball from Cory found Evan Corcoran who ran down the left hand side, cut in and a great strike made it 1-0. The away side were unlucky not to draw level when they were awarded a penalty which hit the post before the end of the first period. Second period and we were against the wind, we defended well and we lost Calvin Wellington half way through due to illness. Aberystwyth came close twice and the 3rd time was lucky for them as they just beat our keeper to make it 1-1. The final third and it was an even game with both teams keeping shape at the back but not creating many chances the match looked a certain draw until a dubious free kick given against us. The kick was taken and a fantastic save by Rhys was put in on the rebound by the number 9‘s hand but unfortunatly the ref did not see it. Overall I think the away side just shaded it however. Well done to the new boys today and well done to all the boys on another good performance. Man of the Match - Ryan John and Thomas Murray. David Davies Port Talbot Town Under-12‘s Academy Coach
