Top performance by Blues
A very good performance today was matched with the correct attitude and commitment, which we missed in last weeks game. Today’s game was a great match, Garden Village were a big, strong and physical side but I knew from the changing room talk today that the squad wanted to make amends for last week. In the first period we dominated. Ash hit the post and a great ball by Macauley Ley found Calvin Wellington to make the score 1-0 with a great finish. Macauley then scored with a neat finish to round off an excellent performance by him. In the second period Garden Village kept plugging away but with the midfield controlled by Joe Gage and Connor playing out of his skin I really couldn’t see them scoring. Gagy scored thanks again to great work by Macauley and Calvin and then Ashley made it 4-0. In the third period our goalkeeper Rhys was called into action three time after having nothing to do and pulled off three great saves with help from Joel who was also brilliant today. Evan then scored the fifth with a wonder strike (he played in midfield today and showed that he can play in any position). Macauley then rounded things off with another cook finish to make it 6-0 at the final whistle. For the second time this season I cannot pick a man of the match, it was a team performance. Man of the match therefore was the whole team, well done lads.
