4th November 2007 James sent off as Llanelli win with double penalty decision Two red cards and two penalty decisions to the visitors were the main talking points in this entertaining match although the major concern was a head injury to Port Talbot Town goalkeeper Lloyd Clement in the last few minutes that required an ambulance to the ground. Llanelli were awarded their first penalty of the game in the opening exchanges despite minimal contact and Jordan Follows made no mistake from the sport. Sam Baker quickly made amends at the other end however as Port Talbot broke away on the counter-attack and Baker made no mistake with a well-taken goal. The game re-started in dramatic style as a rash tackle by Llanelli defender Ashley Johns sparked a mass-brawl within seconds of the free kick being taken and both he and Port Talbot Town striker Ben James were dismissed just minutes into the match. Port Talbot came close to an equaliser when Baker again had a chance on goal. Llanelli had the better of the possession and with 1st team players Jordan Follows and Mark Jones in attack they were a constant threat but Port Talbot defended well with Lloyd Clement making a fine save on 25 minutes. Llanelli regained the lead when Follows made space for himself in the area and scored with a well-struck drive past Clement. Llanelli made a couple of changes to their side in the second half and their fresh legs created problems for the home defence but they extended their lead on 59 minutes when they were awarded their second penalty of the match again for very minimal contact in the area. Follows stepped up to score Llanelli’s third goal of the game and also to complete his hat-trick. A tackle on Follows from Josh Wannacott left the Llanelli striker struggling with a knee injury however and he was then replaced. Mark Jones was a problem for the Port Talbot defence but Wannacott the back-line together well as Llanelli increased the pressure but could not increase their advantage. Lloyd Clement then suffered a head injury after making a fine save and a long delay followed as an ambulance arrived before the referee signalled for full-time soon after the re-start.
