14th October 2007 Town tire as Aberaman take maximum points ENTO Aberaman came back from being a goal behind to take the points in this match despite Port Talbot creating a number of chances in the opening half. Manager Keith Hanford was forced to make a change to his starting line-up with striker Sam Baker suspended following his red card the previous week as Ben James returned to the side having recovered from a slight injury. Port Talbot started the better of the two sides with James a constant threat to the visiting defence with his pace but despite their pressure Port Talbot could not open the scoring through wasted chances and a fine close range save from the Aberaman goalkeeper. At the other end the visitors created chances and Lloyd Clement was called into action to make a superb save at full stretch. The visitors came into the match much more in the second half and created the better chances but it was Port Talbot who took the lead on 60 minutes when a foul in the area saw a penalty awarded to the home side and Ben James made no mistake with a well struck effort. The goal sparked Aberaman however and they equalised with a superb effort from long range on 68 minutes with Lloyd Clement just unable to reach the fine strike on goal. Aberaman continued to pressure the home side and on 75 minutes they took a deserved lead with another well taken goal. Port Talbot pressed for an equaliser but were unable to come back into the game as the visitors held on to take the three points. Port Talbot will be disappointed at not making their possession count in the opening half but will take confidence from a strong display against their experienced opponents.
