On a damp and grey morning we went to the Greenstars to play Afan Lido, we went with a bare 8 players to give the boys a good run out. We started well passing the ball around with ease but one lapse in concentration cost us the opening goal when from a simple kick from the keeper the ball somehow got the Lido forward who scored. The second period saw us continue to play some neat attacking football and this was finally rewarded when Chay scored after some good build up play. We then took the lead when Chay deflected a shot past the Lido keeper, but the lead was short lived when our defence again let the forwards have too much time and Lido equalized with a good finish. The third period somehow remained goal less even though both sides did their best to score, a mention must go to both keepers who made some outstanding saves in this period and throughout the whole game. The final period remained fast and furious with sides looking for the crucial next goal, from a good tackle and pass from Jack Hurley "the pest" Kavan set up Pikey who found the back of the net with a cool finish. Although yet again a lack of concentration and poor decision making allowed the Lido player to cross the ball and somehow one Lido player was able to beat two of our defenders to the ball and score with a clinical finish, Final score 3 - 3, yet again another entertaining game between 2 very competitive sides. A big tap on the back for all of our boys for their passing game which was a joy to watch and unplayable at times. Man Of The Match easy Cory, Lewis, Max, Ashley, Pest, Jack, Pikey, Chay.
