2-13
Port Talbot Town Blues U-14’s
Having not played since a couple of weeks before Xmas and training being limited
to jogging due to the closure of the astroturf we were not best prepared to play
against our rivals who always give us a hard game. I told the lads to go and enjoy
the occasion of having a game of football and not to let themselves be dragged into
any indiscipline. From the first minute we looked like a team that meant business
and the passing, work rate and off the ball movement took everybody by surprise.
I think that any team we played would have been onto a hiding. After 16 minutes we
were 6-0 up and Porthcawl could not cope with our passing. From right to left time
and time again and our finishing was clinical. Half time it was 8-0 and we played
some outstanding football and the home side were just trying to mark Taylor and Michael
but the lads kept switching and confusing the defence. The final score was 13-2 in
what was a great team effort. I must also say that some individual performances were
special - Kane, Lloyd, Taylor and Michael were unstoppable while Mark, Ryan, Evan
and Zak were fantastic. Porthcawl were stunned by our performance, but as I said
they caught us on a good day. Well done to all 16 of the squad on your performance
and for showing great discipline. The scorers were Kane (5), Lloyd (2), Evan (2),
Tom Murray (1), Zak (1), Michael (1) and Taylor (1). Man of the Match was Kane.
