On a bitter Sunday lunchtime Llanelli Academy travelled to Western Avenue, the game was played 9 v 9 over four 15 minute periods. We started brightly and  some neat passing resulted in us creating several one on one chances which we could not convert. The second period saw Llanelli come more into the game and they took the lead when we cheaply lost the ball upfront allowing Llanelli to break Cory saved the first shot only for the rebound to be put into the net. The boys reacted well again creating one v one opportunties which we missed. The third period and llanelli extended their lead after a scramble in the box was finished off with a good finish. Llanelli were now playing some good football but again we created great scoring chances which we could not finish. The final period and the boys were told to give it everything and enjoy although as much as we tried we just could not put the ball into the net missing several more one v one chances. In our effort to score we conceded two further goals the first from a poor pass out of defence by Alex, the second when Cory threw the ball straight to the Llanelli player who cooly finished (specsavers appointment booked !) Final score 0-4, this was a very entertaining game to watch where Llanelli played the better football but the boys never gave up and on another day could have scored 4 goals of their own as a result of trying to play football themselves where ever possible. It is always nice when the opposite coach comments on the fact that they like to play us as we try to play football and always produce a good competitive game. Man Of The Match for giving 110% in defence and attack and for creating most of the goalscoring chances Pikey. Corey you will be glad to hear has now thrown out the boots he was wearing in this game as the radar had gone on them!!!. Ian Wozencroft, Manager.
