Cwrt Herbert Blacks U-11’s
3-1
Port Talbot Blues & Whites U-11’s

Our run of playing teams from Neath continued as the boys played Cwrt Herbert Blacks.
The first period again saw a slow start from the boys and they soon found themselves
0-2 down to a very strong Cwrt herbert side and it was obvious to see that confidence
was low with the boys. The second period continued where the first left off with
Cwrt Herbert having all the ball and passing with some style which saw them score
another goal, the coach was now very concerned as to what the final score would be.
During the break the boys were told to play with more confidence and belief and to
go back to basics and in fairness they responded with alot more committment and effort
and started to put a few passes together and create some chances. Before the final
period the boys were told not to let themselves down and to go out with a smile on
their face and enjoy. Credit to them they did and gave it everything and were finally
rewarded when Corey stole the ball from the defender and cooly finished. Final score
1- 3. The most pleasing point from this game was the boys never gave up, even though
they were totally out played for the first two periods and three goals behind they
didn't just fold but seemed to grow in confidence and self belief, also the fact
they tried to play from the back everytime even though they were under constant pressure.
Several of the players had also played a 40 minute game against the Lido beforehand
and showed great fitness levels. Cwrt Herbert are easily the best team the boys have
played and we all learnt from the game and I look forward to playing them again.
All the boys gave 100% thus a team Man Of The Match award. Ian Wozencroft, Manager.
