Manager Mark Pike had a stronger squad available for this home match following a number of absentees last week due to a flu virus and injury. In a competitive opening half both sides created chances with Jamie Jones coming close to scoring for Port Talbot Town inside the opening 10 minutes but his effort drifted wide. On 21 minutes however Jones was rewarded for his efforts as he opened the scoring. Chris Silva was the main creator for Port Talbot Town in midfield while Aaron Biddescombe was able to push forward from his position at left back to cause the visitors problems. Bettws did have chances of their own however and after forcing a series of corners goalkeeper Ryan Dummer was called into action to make a fine save from close range. Port Talbot had not been at their best in the opening half with misplaced passes making the game more difficult for them than it should have been. The second half was a different story however and after a few long range efforts Port Talbot settled into the game and doubled their advantage through Sam France on 64 minutes with a fine individual goal. The heads of the Bettws players dropped after the second Port Talbot Town goal and just four minutes later Aaron Biddescombe completed a superb run down the left by finishing in style to score his sides third goal of the game. On 78 minutes defender Josh Wannacott was on hand to head home to score his sides fourth as Port Talbot took the game to their opponents and dominated the last twenty minutes of the match. Chris Silva made it five on 84 minutes and there was still time for Jamie Jones and Sam France to both score in the last few minutes of the match to complete the convincing win. Bettws were reduced to ten men in injury time to complete an afternoon to forget for the visitors while Port Talbot Town will take plenty of positives from an impressive second half performance.
