After getting from Neath Boys Club to Western Avenue in about 7 minutes!!!!! it was time to prepare for the second game of the day against Porthcawl. The first period saw the boys get straight into the passing game and cause Porthcawl problems all over the field. The scoring was opened when Kavans shot just about crossed the line after the keeper had half stopped it, the second saw Morgan cooly finish straight from a Pikey corner (see Morgan the coach does know what he is talking about with starting positions!) the third from Corey the best of the bunch, Cory fed Max who played Morgan who set up Corey who cooly finished the move. The second period saw more of the same football but only one goal which came from Corey after a quality cross from Morgan. The third period saw the boys face a different challenge to keep the ball and No shots allowed until the coach said, they delivered in style in 5:30secs. Porthcawl touched the ball 3 times with some of the passing top drawer. The only down side we conceded a goal albeit a good goal. The final period saw the same quality passing and chance after chance being created but we could not add to the score sheet final score 4-1. Performances of note Corey not only goals but all round play, Cory for saves and neat footwork, Man Of The Match Pikey and Lewis. Pikey solid in defence and killer passes when going forward, Lewis strong defending and having the ability to switch to centre midfield and right midfield and keep the same level of performance, also 2 superb corners which should have seen 2 goals Max and Connor!! It's always nice when the opposition coach comes on to you and the players after the game and says excellent passing team, well done boys. Ian Wozencroft, Manager.
