16th September 2007 Griffiths double not enough against Airbus UK Prior to the long trip to Airbus, A late decision had to be made whether we would travel due with an injury hit squad, at the moment we have six players at the physio. With twelve fit players available, I decided along with players it was worth the trip North. Whilst travelling a further two players were hit with travel sickness but it did not deter the team to give it a go. After a very scrappy start and some mistakes early on, we soon settled and started to control the game. Airbus playing the more direct football and our young guns playing some decent football when against the run of play and sloppy defending we found ourselves two goals down. The boys bounced back and were unfortunate not to get a goal back. The second period started with us two goals down but the boys dug in well and played very good football and soon we got back in the game with an 18 yard strike from Rhys Griffiths to make it 2-1, we started to dominate and created a number of chances for yet another mistake at the back allowed Airbus to increase their lead 3-1 with 15 minutes to go. Tired legs started to kick in but we continued to try, keep the ball and do the right things. Frustrations were starting to creep in with direct ball approach from Airbus but our patience paid off with yet another 18 yard strike from Rhys Griffiths to make it 3-2, we chased and pressed the game but unfortunately it was not to be and the game ended 3-2 to Airbus UK.
