13th September 2007 Blues win against Swansea City Centre of Excellence Our first victory of the campaign could not have been better scripted, what a game! We were given the chance to play at the RE/MAX Stadium by Secretary John Dawkins and Chairman Andrew Edwards, many thanks to oyu both. Every player of Port Talbot appreciated this and played for their club badge led by captain Macauley Ley. The game started with the Blues coming out of the blocks on fire, Joe Gage put us in front after 8 minutes then a great finish by Calvin Wellington made it 2-0 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter Swansea came out not to lose their unbeaten record and to be fair had some great chances with our goalkeeper Rhys Parry pulling off some saves that Peter Schmeichel would be proud of and the score stayed 2-0. In the third quarter we upped our game and came close to scoring three times but the Swans were not lying down and a great ball from their number ten allowed his striker partner in to make it 2-1. One minute later it was 2-2 as we allowed the Swans to equalise but we are Port Talbot and we were determined to win and reward our Chairman and club. A great ball by Conner Prosser put Calvin in and he made no mistake to make it 3-2 with 30 seconds to go. YES, WE HAD DONE IT! I must mention that every squad member was great today and man of the match was the whole team. As a coach i was proud for my club and my players. Team - Rhys Parry, Ryan John, Evan Corcoran, Connor Prosser, Joel Healey, Joe Gage, Ashley Davies, Macauley Ley, Calvin Wellington, Callum Beynon, Taylor Golding, Josh Sherwood, Thomas Murray, Cory Morris and Nathan Carter. I would also like to thank Afan FM for their support on the night and their continued support of the team and the club Academy. David Davies Port Talbot Town Under-12‘s Academy Coach
