Port Talbot Under-10‘s Athletic 4

Cynffig Comm Under-10‘s 1

Report by Ian Wozencroft
Match Report
After a rainy day the sun came out tea time for the boys to play Cynffig. The first period was fast and furious as games normally are between these two teams. Port Talbot opened the scoring when Morgan shot home from the edge of the 6 yard area after a good passing move started by Ashley, Cynffig quickly replying with a well taken shot of their own, Morgan restored the lead with another well taken shot again after some good passing and build up play, 2-1. The second period remained fast and furious with both teams looking to add to their goal tally, but good defending and goalkeeping kept the score at 2-1. The third period just carried on in the same manner although Cynffig were really applying the pressure now and bringing out the best in Lewis, Lewis and Max. Then slightly against the run of play Tom increased the lead with a fine header from a good cross into the box, 3-1. The final period saw Cynffig play some good football and throw everything at Port Talbot only to be kept at bay by some outstanding hard work from every player in a blue jersey. With the final kick of the game a rare Port Talbot break has resulted in Aaron producing a good finish when under pressure from several Cynffig players, final score 4-1. This was a hard physical game but the boys never took a step backwards and dug deep for a good win. Man Of The Match goes to the back three Lewis Fellows, Lewis Wozencroft and Max Knight who worked their socks off and battled hard all night, a mention must go to Lewis Wozencroft who finally lost his temper!, in the process run through 4 Cynffig players from his goal to the Cynffig goal and nearly scored, the face was a picture.

SQUAD: Lewis Fellows, Lewis Wozencroft, Max Knight, Ashley Lewis, Morgan Davies, Aaron sarich, Pikey, Kavan Williams, Tom Philpott.
