Port Talbot Under-10‘s Town 0

Porthcawl A Under-10‘s 2

Report by Keith Williams
Match Report
On a lovely day for football Port Talbot Town welcomed Porthcawl`A` to Western Avenue and to what was to turn out to be a cracking game for both teams. First of all I would like to say a big thank you to Carl Power who has now finished with the coaching of the Under-10 side, We wish both him and Kelan well and good luck for the future.
The first 10 minutes of this match was a good example of what was to come with some really good football played by both sides. A very even 10 with both sides creating some fine chances in front of goal, but the best shot coming from Alex Williams just inside the opponents half and just going over the crossbar 0-0. The 2nd session started off to a flyer with Morgan getting an early chance for Town, but going wide. With Kavan Williams and Jordan McCarthy both getting shots in things started looking good, but then directly from a corner Porthcawl had a very lucky break, going over the heads of the defenders and hitting William in the belly before dropping into the net 0-1. Into the 3rd and it was Town putting on all the pressure but not getting the breaks, strikes coming from all positions. This was hard for the boys, they were doing the right things with no reward .Final session and midway through, a well taken goal from Porthcawl finished off the match, a lovely chip over the goalie, with William just getting his fingers to the ball, but not enough to stop it from going in 0-2.A hard game for all.
