Report by Ian Wozencroft Match Report On a very busy day for sport in Wales the Athletic made the short journey to Bryn for an early 10 o'clock kick off. With only 8 players available the boys were going to have to work hard for 40 minutes. After a sluggish start to the game the boys slowly started to get the passing game going and ask some questions of the Bryn goalkeeper. It was no surprise when from a quick Lewis throw Corey turned his marker and cooly shot past the keeper from a narrow angle. Then from another flowing move Pikey somehow managed to miss from a yard out at the far post, 0-1. The second period was the same as the first Port Talbot looking to get the ball wide at every opportunity. The second goal coming as a result of some good pressure from Aaron in midfield winning the ball passing to Pikey who put Corey clean through on goal who tried his best to break the crossbar with a thunderous shot only for Ashley to score a poachers goal from 2 yards on the rebound, 0-2. The third period and the boys were well into the groove playing some quality football much to the delight of the crowd on both sides of the pitch. Two further goals came in this period Pikey driving a low hard shot into the net from 15 yards out after getting a great pass from Ryan and Ashley scoring his second with a neat finish at the far post on the run, 0-4. the final period saw no further goals but plenty of quality free flowing football which was a pleasure to watch, final score 0-4. This was a whole team effort Lewis Fellows although not having much to do distributed the ball superbly well, Lewis and Max won all of their challenges and got involved in the passing, Pikey and Ashley causing chaos out wide and delivering quality service to Corey, Corey his usual self a nightmare for any defender, Aaron a hard working display in the middle of the field. Man Of The Match though goes to Ryan who is now really starting to find his feet, winning tackles, quick passing and good fitness, Well Done Everyone.
