Match Report
On an even colder day than Saturday the Athletic including William, Jade (Town) and Rhydian (u'11) made the long journey to Llanelli for a friendly. After a long delay when the missing pieces to the goals were located the match finally got under way, the Athletic starting like a house on fire creating chance after chance unfortunately the only thing missing a GOAL, 0-0. The second period very much like the first chance after chance going begging, but like all good teams Llanelli wethered the storm and began to grow in confidence and from one of their first chances scored the opening goal, 1-0. The third period saw the Athletic back to their best and all the hard work was finally rewarded when from a quality Pikey cross Ashley scored at the far post, this was soon followed by a second Athletic goal when Ashley after beating his marker sent a perfect pass to Jade who cooly beat the keeper from a tight angle, 1-2. The final period gradually saw all the hard work finally take it's toll on the Athletic players and llanelli took advantage scoring 3 goals, final score 4-2. This was an immense effort by the boys and girl who played for an hour (4x15 periods) on a heavy pitch and without a break while Llanelli had the luxury of subs, no one moaned and everyone 110%. Man Of The Match going to Pikey who was a class above every other player on the field going forward and in defence.
