Match Report
Winter announced itself in grand fashion with sweeping rain, a fierce wind and a mighty chill as Baglan BGC attended Western Avenue. Baglan adapted to the conditions much the quicker racing into a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes, both goals coming from their star player Callum. Port Talbot's reply a sweetly struck shoot from the edge of the area by Pikey ( All that shooting practice paying off ! ). In the third quarter Port Talbot started to string a few passes together and apply some pressure on the Baglan keeper which resulted in Aaron Sarich scoring from 10 yards out with a shot under the keeper, 2-2. The final 10 minutes was nearly all Port Talbot with Corey, Aaron, Pikey and Morgan all guilty of trying to hit the ball too hard when shooting infront of goal. This pressure finally told when Corey Evans poked the ball over the line after yet another goal mouth scramble putting Port Talbot infront for the first time. On a day NOT for the faint hearted both teams did themselves very proud, final score 3-2. Joint Man Of The Match goes to Pikey for his effort in attack and Lewis Wozencroft for determined effort in defence, well played lads.
