Town continue jinx against Reds
This is the fifth tome that we have played Llanelli this season and with one loss and three draws we were determined to put things right just before our trip to Blackburn Rovers. Still without Alex today he was replaced with our new signing Zac Coombes and there will be more new faces for next season. In the first period we played some good football, passing from the back and we looked very relaxed. Clavin nearly hit the net while Nathan and Mac both went close but it stayed 0-0. Llanelli hit the woodwork in the second period twice but we were still in control and Calvin, who was outstanding today, ran with the ball before cutting inside and finishing neatly to make it 1-0 to the Blues. In the third period we should have wrapped the game up but we were also lucky that the home side again struck the posts. I then made four changes with Blackburn in mind and it sent out a chance to Llanelli. In fairness they were all over us in the last five minutes but their goal was hard to take and again the Llanelli jinx was upon us. Well done to Llanelli though they have a great set-up, great coach and always give their all. I will now look forward to our trip to Ewood Park. Man of the match - Calvin for his confidence, speed, strength, top finish and great attitude. Well done!
